REVIEW: Colt Defender (Non-blowback) Air Pistol

Being made of all-metal, you'll enjoy the weight and fit of the Colt Defender air pistol in your hand. This 1911 non-blowback replica will fit the holster of a Springfield Arms WX-d 3.8 in .40 S&W. It holds 16 rounds in the built-in magazine. This inexpensive air pistol is great for honing eye and hand coordination. The Colt Defender air pistol provides a great way to get in needed practice without burning up a lot of expensive ammunition.
The Colt Defender shoots .177 BB's and delivers a velocity of 440 feet per second. Powered by a 12 gram CO2 capsule, shooters can get up to 25 feet that can get anywhere from 90 to 150 shots with controlled use. The fixed blade front sight helps promote the accuracy delivered by this semi automatic weapon. Under the barrel shooters can also mount a flashlight or laser sight to the Weaver accessory rail and keep their target in sight. The Colt Defender non-blowback air pistol is a great plinker with good power and accuracy for practice drills. You'll Love the Look and Feel of this Colt 1911 Defender Air Pistol.
In true colt style: The Colt Defender BB Pistol has an ALL-METAL construction and a built in 16-shot BB magazine. The spring powered grip release and the CO2 compartment in the grip make this pistol extremely easy to operate. A fixed blade front sight makes aiming a breeze. Realistic weight of 1.6 lbs.
Extremely efficient co2 use: A 12 gram Umarex CO2 Capsule will run approximately 150 steel BBs through it before needing more CO2. Just shoot slow and steady to maximize the CO2 that hides behind a sliding grip plate. The puncture screw is a handy flip-down knob - no extra tools needed to puncture the CO2 capsule.
Crisp & predictable trigger: The trigger on the Colt Defender air pistol is heavy and long with a smooth travel and a crisp break that's consistent and predictable. This airgun is almost the same size and weight as the Smith & Wesson Shield and makes for a great gun to practice holster drills and target acquisition.
16-round built-in magazine: The built in 16-round magazine is very easy to load especially when using steel BB's. The Defender gets great velocity and has good CO2 economy. Shoot it on a warm day as fast as you can reload it. Have plenty of Umarex or Hornady BBs handy.

Great fun, not the best for TRAINING
ByVaughn Williams
This is a really great c02 pistol. Best one i ever bought. The olny issue i had was the spring for the grip slide. The grip wouldnt stay latched. I just took the spring out. And its fine. Shoots amazing and has plenty of power. Fun to just shoot around with. And looks and feels like the real deal. Good for training exercises or gun safety practice. The c02 cartridge frame is all metal, so no worries of cracking from tighting the c02 like on plastic ones. All around great.

This is a really great c02 pistol
By Amazing Customer
Looks and feels like the real deal. Accuracy is flawed. The BB's path leans to the right a significant amount, but you quickly learn to estimate how far to the left of something you have to aim in order to hit the mark. Ex: In firing at a tree approx. 40 feet away, I aim about 12 inches to the left of the target. Also, the release for the grip on the handle that allows access to the CO2 cartridge is easily triggered by setting the gun down on the wrong side. -Just annoying. It's also a bit difficult to get the grip to lock. For the price, because of the look and feel I'd say it's a fine purchase, but now I wish I'd shelled out an additional $50+ for higher accuracy/quality.

I absolutely love shooting this pistol
By Amazing Customer
I absolutely love shooting this pistol. My husband is amazed at how accurate I am with it. Works great on rats and sparrows, which are both vermin in my opinion. I do have a negative comment. After shooting a couple of hundred rounds of bbs, the gun started jamming with a bb in the barrel. When it jammed it would misfire and expend all the CO2 in the cartridge. The last time it jammed we couldn't get the bb dislodged from the end of the barrel, so returned the gun and just received the replacement. Amazon took care of everything and promptly sent a new one. I hope this one doesn't do the same thing as I do love shooting this little gun.
